Join your neighbors in June 2009 to fund job training for low-income communities. Trainees are being taught how to develop their own communities in Durham. A group of our clients are completing a series of training courses in the condemned house at 407 Salem Street. They are learning valuable construction skills while building a LEED certified house. This group that completes our training process will be prepared for the workforce. Additionally, the home will be used as transitional housing to support the next group of trainees while they renovate another house in Durham. This process has been effective in developing positive relationships between people and their society.

Your monetary donations will go directly into organizing, material, and labor costs of this training project.

Why is Salem Street important?

This home will support people that:
